A friend of my husband announced his wife was becoming a surrogate. I guess it was for the money. He was shocked when people reacted negatively! “It’s none of your business” he complained.

As it turned out she had multiple embryos implanted and two survived. They are being placed in two different homes.

So not only do the babies have no bond with the woman who carried them, they have lost their sibling.

This is a horror show!

Maybe they need to put the surrogates and the prospective parents under the same scrutiny that we, adoptive parents, had to go through.

Katy - Thank you so much for speaking out on these topics. I would like to hear more about women that are having babies with donated sperm. Women that "just can't find a man" and are inpatient and decide to have children without a father.

I recommend the book "Brave New Humans" to learn more about the effects of gamete donation on the people born using this. It's not pretty.

Thank you for the recommendation. I just finished listening to the entire book and it was earthshaking for me. A very important read.

A sad but brave story. A record of biological parents should never be withheld from birth documents, every child has a right to know regardless.

Thank you for sharing Olivia's story and voice. This is an important issue for Christians to really understand. We mean well when we try to help those dealing with infertility, but many do not realize that surrogacy is traumatic and immoral.
